Guideline to Reviewers

As a reviewer for IJABMR, you play a critical role in maintaining the quality and integrity of the journal. Please follow these key guidelines:

Competing Interests:

Disclose any potential conflicts of interest (personal, financial, professional, or academic) that may affect your impartiality. Do not review manuscripts if you are currently employed by the same institution as the authors or have had significant recent collaboration with them.

Timeliness:
Respond to review requests promptly. Only accept reviews if you can meet the specified timeline. If your situation changes or you need an extension, inform the journal immediately. If you cannot review, suggest alternative reviewers.

Scope of the Journal:

Ensure the manuscript fits within the journal’s scope and aligns with its focus on business and management research. If the manuscript does not meet this criterion, mention it in your review to guide the editorial team.

Review Process:

  • Initial Steps: Review the provided guidelines and materials thoroughly. If anything is unclear, reach out to the journal.
  • Confidentiality: Keep all information from the review process confidential. Do not share manuscripts or use the information for personal gain.
  • Bias and Integrity: Remain objective and fair. Avoid biases and do not collaborate with others in reviewing unless permitted by the journal.

Ethics Concerns:

If you suspect ethical issues (such as plagiarism or fabrication of data), inform the editor immediately. Do not investigate on your own.

Transferability of Reviews:

If a manuscript is submitted to another journal after being rejected elsewhere, you may be asked to review it again. Be ready to review it afresh and note any changes from the previous submission.

Preparing Your Report:

  • Format: Follow the journal’s review format if provided. Be clear, constructive, and professional in your feedback.
  • Appropriate Feedback: Provide honest, unbiased evaluations. Your feedback should guide the authors to improve their work.
  • Language and Style: Use professional and respectful language, even when offering criticism. Keep your comments clear and focused.
  • Suggestions for Improvement: Point out areas where further analysis or clarification is needed. Your role is not to expand the work, but to suggest ways to improve clarity and rigor.

Accountability:
Prepare the review independently unless given permission to involve others. Avoid unfairly criticizing the work of others or requesting citations for personal gain. Be prompt with your review to avoid unnecessary delays.

Post-Review:
If asked to review a revised manuscript, please review it promptly and provide any necessary updates based on the changes made. Notify the journal if any new information arises after completing your review that could affect your initial feedback.
